Suy Niệm bài Tin Mừng Luke 10:1-12 Thứ Năm Tuần 26TN

Trong bài Tin Mừng  hôm nay, Chúa Giêsu đã chọn bảy mươi môn đệ để trao cho họ nhiệm vụ là Rao giảng Tin Mừng cho khắp muôn dân. Chúa Giêsu ủy thác cho bảy mươi môn đệ với hai nhiệm vụ:  Rao giảng về Ngôi Hai Nhập thể là Chúa Giêsu Kitô, nhân danh Chúa Kitô để hành động. Chúa Giêsu đã hướng dẫn và chỉ cách cho họ thực hiện sứ vụ tông đồ truyền giáo của họ. Họ phải ra đi và phục vụ mọi người như Chính Chúa đã làm, với tinh thần liêm chính, với lòng bác ái, vi tha, và có một lối sống đơn sơ.

             Họ phải ra đi loan báo Nước Thiên Chúa một cách nghiêm túc, tuân thủ mọi sự hướng dẫn của Chúa Kitô mà không được linh động theo ý mình, dù chỉ là những thứ nhỏ nhoi khác. Họ ra đi như đi ánh sáng, chỉ mang theo trên người những thứ cần thiết và bỏ lại sau lưng tất cả những gì có thể sẽ làm họ phải bận tâm, chia trí , lo ra mà làm sai ý Chúa.

      Trong sự hướng dẫn của Chúa Giêsu, Ngài cũng không quên một cảnh báo: "Nếu những ai từ chối lời mời gọi của Thiên Chúa, Thì những người đấy sẽ tự mang lấy một bản án của chính mình”.

             Khi Thiên Chúa ban cho chúng ta Lời của Ngài, Lời (giáo huấn) của Ngài luôn có kèm theo với những trách nhiệm lớn lao. Không thể có những sự thờ ơ lãnh đạm. Mà chúng ta phải có  một sự lựa chọn một trong hai ; Một là chúng ta theo Chúa, hai là chúng ta chống lại Thiên Chúa trong cách mà chúng ta đáp ứng lại với lời dạy của Ngài. 

            Thiên Chúa ban cho chúng ta Lời của Ngài mà chúng ta có thể có được sự sống dồi dào trong ân sũng của Ngài. Ngài muốn việc làm của Ngài được thông qua và trong mỗi người chúng ta vì vinh quang của Ngài. Thiên Chúa chia sẻ Lời của Ngài với chúng ta và Ngài cũng muốn chúng ta mạnh dạn đem lời Ngài đế chia sẽ cho người khác.

            "Lạy Chúa Giêsu, Tin Mừng của Chúa có những niềm vui và chân lý để làm biến đổi cuộc sống của chúng con, xin giúp chúng con có thể chứng kiến và cảm nghiệm Lời Chúa qua những người xung quanh và Xin cho chúng con có thể đem chân lý và ánh sáng của Chúa đến bất cứ nơi nào chúng con đi. "

Meditation:

What kind of harvest does the Lord want us to reap today? When Jesus commissioned seventy of his disciples to go on mission, he gave them a vision of a great harvest for the kingdom of God. Jesus frequently used the image of a harvest to convey the coming of God’s reign on earth. The harvest is the fruition of labor and growth – beginning with the sowing of seeds, then growth, and finally fruit for the harvest. In like manner, the word of God is sown in the hearts of receptive men and women who hear his word and who accept it with trust and obedience. The harvest Jesus had in mind was not only the people of Israel, but all the peoples (or nations) of the world. John the Evangelist tells us that  "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

            What does Jesus mean when he says his disciples must be "lambs in the midst of wolves"? The prophet Isaiah foretold a time when wolves and lambs will dwell in peace (Isaiah 11:6 and 65:25). This certainly refers to the second coming of Christ when all will be united under the Lordship of Jesus after he has put down his enemies and established the reign of God over the heavens and the earth. In the meantime, the disciples must expect opposition and persecution from those who who would oppose the gospel. Jesus came as our sacrificial lamb to atone for the sin of the world. We, in turn, must be willing to sacrifice our lives in humble service of our Lord and Master.

            What is the significance of Jesus appointing seventy disciples to the ministry of the word? Seventy was a significant number in biblical times. Moses chose seventy elders to help him in the task of leading the people through the wilderness. The Jewish Sanhedrin, the governing council for the nation of Israel, was composed of seventy members. In Jesus’ times seventy was held to be the number of nations throughout the world. Jesus commissioned the seventy to a two-fold task: to speak in his name and to act with his power. Jesus gave them instructions for how they were to carry out their ministry. They must go and serve as people without guile, full of charity and peace, and simplicity. They must give their full attention to the proclamation of God’s kingdom and not be diverted by other lesser things. They must  travel light – only take what was essential and leave behind whatever would distract them – in order to concentrate on the task of speaking the word of the God. They must do their work, not for what they can get out of it, but for what they can give freely to others, without expecting reward or payment. “Poverty of spirit” frees us from greed and preoccupation with possessions and makes ample room for God’s provision. The Lord wants his disciples to be dependent on him and not on themselves.

            Jesus ends his instructions with a warning: If people reject God’s invitation and refuse his word, then they bring condemnation on themselves. When God gives us his word there comes with it the great responsibility to respond. Indifference will not do. We are either for or against God in how we respond to his word. God gives us his word that we may have abundant life in him. He wills to work through and in each of us for his glory. God shares his word with us and he commissions us to speak it boldly and simply to others. Do you witness the truth and joy of the gospel by word and example to those around you?

            “Lord Jesus, may the joy and truth of the gospel transform my life that I may witness it to those around me. Grant that I may spread your truth and your light wherever I go.”

Trong Tin Mừng hôm nay, Chúa Giêsu cảnh cáo chúng ta rằng. những người theo Chúa sẽ phải chịu phần khổ sở đau đớn và đánh đập như chính Ngài sẽ phải chịu. Đó là những  phần rất đặc biệt duy nhất mà các môn đệ như chúng ta được mời gọi để trở thành người Kitô hữu. Chúa Giêsu không thay đổi những quy tắc để làm cho cuộc sống được dễ dàng hơn cho chúng ta bây giờ so với thời điểm của các tông đồ. Ngài đã và đang sai chúng ta ra đi và sống giữa dòng đời như chiên con sống giữa bầy sói. Một khi chúng ta đã định cho hướng đi cho tương lai, chúng ta phải đứng lên, bênh vực và phổ biến cho sự thật khi có sự tổn hại đến quyền lợi ích kỷ của những người khác, cũng vì thế mà chúng ta có thể phải gánh chịu những đau thương, nhữ bắt bớ, giam cầm vì chúng ta dám làm môn đệ và theo Chúa Kitô.

            Mỗi khi chúng ta đón nhận những sự sĩ nhục vì đã sống theo gương Đức Kitô,  chúng ta hãy nên nhớ rằng, chính Chúa Kitô đã sống và làm gương cho chúng ta trong mọi nơi , mọi lúc và mọi hoàn cảnh. Những dấu đinh trên tay và chân, và mũi đòng đâm sâu trên ngực Chúa đã trờ nên là dấu chỉ và chứng từ tốt nhất khi Ngài đã hiện ra cho các môn đệ của Ngài sau khi Ngài đã sống lại. Chúa đã trân trọng những vết thường đắt giá nhất trên thân thể của Ngài mà Ngài đã giữ lại vào trong thân xác vinh hiển của Ngài khi sống lại và chắc chắn những dấu chỉ này còn hiển trị trên Nước Trời mãi mãi.

           

REFLECTIION
In today's Gospel Jesus warns us that Christians will be liable to pains and injuries, as he was. It is all part of the unique discipleship that is required of each one of us as Christians. Jesus does not alter the rules to make life easier for us now than it was for the apostles. He continues to send us out like lambs in the midst of wolves. Once we take a definite stand, support an unpopular cause or stand for the truth when it hurts the selfish interests of others, then we will begin to collect our scars for Christ.

            When we receive scars for being models of Christian living, let us keep in mind that Jesus, the greatest model of all times, was literally scarred from head to foot. The marks of the nails and spear became his best proof of identification when he appeared to his disciples after his Resurrection. He cherished his wounds so dearly that he transferred them to his glorified body and undoubtedly still displays them in Heaven today.

            As for ourselves, what scars do we have to show for our years of Christian living? As it is only natural for a professional boxer to be scarred as he battles his opponents, so too, it is only natural if for a Christian, to be scarred, since true Christian living is a lifelong battle defending Christian principles against injustices and the forces of evil.
