Lạy Chúa Giêsu Thánh thể, Chiều nay chúng con đến trước mặt Chúa, xin Chúa hãy mở rộng trái tim của chúng con để chúng con có thể cảm nghiệm -ươđc tình yêu của Chúa dành cho chúng con. Xin Chúa hãy giúp chúng con liên tục biết lắng nghe tiếng Chúa một cách cá nhân và riêng tư để mỗi khi chúng con nghe đọc Lời Chúa, xin Chúa giúp chúng con biết sống như những gỉ mà Chúa đang mong muốn chúng con sống và hành động trong cuộc sống của chúng con. Xin Chúa tỏ lộ trái tim của Chúa cho chúng con được thấy để chúng con dâng Chúa tất cả và phó thác tất cả mọi sự trong tay Chúa những gì có thể xảy ra trong lúc này, Xin cho chúng con biết chấp nhận tất cả những gì là Ý Chúa, miễn là theo như ý Chúa muốn và theo như cách Chúa muốn. Trong giờ chầu và cầu nguyện này, chúng con muốn Chúa biết là chúng con đang có mặt ở đây trước sự hiện diện của Chúa bởi vì Chúng con yêu mến Chúa. Vì Chúa là người quan trọng nhất trong cuộc sống của chúng con, và việc chầu Chúa Thánh Thể chúa chiểu nay cũng là việc làm quan trọng nhất chúng con có thể làm để thờ lạy và vinh danh Chúa. Xin Chúa Giêsu Thánh Thể hãy chúc phúc cho những nỗ lực khiêm tốn, đơn sơ của chúng con bằng món quà Thánh Thể Chúa vì chính là mình và Máu của Chúa đã đổ ra cho chúng con chỉ vì muốn yêu thương chúng con.

Qua bài Tin Mừng hôm nay, Chúa Giê-su đã sai 12 môn đệ của Ngài lên đường tiếp tục sứ mệnh của Ngài là rao giảng Tin Mừng của Ngài và kêu gọi người Dothái trở lại cùng Thiên Chúa là Chúa của họ. Chúa đã ban cho các môn đệ này sức mạnh và quyền năng để nhân danh Ngài rao giảng và hành động theo ý ngài. Chúa ra lệnh cho họ làm những công việc mà ngài đã làm. Họ nhân danh Chúa chữa lành cho những người đau ốm bệnh tật, Trừ quỷ, và rao giảng lời của Thiên Chúa là hãy ăn năn sám hối và hãy tin tưởng vào tin mừng phúc âm mà họ đã nhận được từ nơi Chúa Giêsu.
   Khi nói về sức mạnh và quyền năng của Chúa Giêsu, chúng ta đã thấy Chúa đã làm một điều mà chưa có ai từ trước tới nay đã từng được nghe thấy. Chúa Giêsu đã kết hợp sức mạnh và quyền năng cùa Ngài bằng tình yêu thương, sự hy sinh và lòng khiêm tốn. Trong Thế giới hiện tại của chúng ta thì trái ngược lại, vì thế giới xác thịt của chúng ta chỉ biết tìm kiếm quyền lực để trục lợi cho bản thân ích kỷ của chúng ta. Vì thế hôm nay Chúa Giê-su dạy chúng ta là hãy dùng quyên năng và uy thế của Ngài để làm những việc có lợi ích cho những người khác, cho những người lân cận thấp bé và yếu thế trong một cái xã hội đầy dãy những bất công và trục lợi cá nhân.

   Tại sao Chúa Giêsu khuyến cáo các môn đệ của ngài ra đi rao giảng tin mừng với hai bàn tay trắng, ra đi trong sự nhẹ nhành, nghĩa không được mang theo bất cứ thứ gì.? Chúa Giêsu thật sự muốn họ ra đi với một lòng tin tưởng và tín thác vào sự quan phòng của Thiên Chúa với tinh thần nghèo khó. Chúa Giêsu muốn tất cả chúng ta cũng nên phụ thuộc vào Thiên Chúa một cách hoàn toàn, Chúa muốn chúng ta tín thác mọi sự nơi Thiên Chúa, Có lẽ quan niệm này đã quá cực đoan với chúng ta trong thời buổi hôm nay, nhưng có lẽ chúng ta nhất định cần phải đặt niềm tin tuởng vào sự Quan Phòng của Thiên Chúa nhiều hơn như các môn đệ. Chúng ta không thể kiểm soát tất cả mọi thứ hoặc có thể chuẩn bị cho tất cả mọi biến cố có thể xảy ra cho chúng ta và chúng ta không cần phải bận tâm về những thứ vật chất ấy. Chúa cũng muốn chúng ta phải từ bỏ tất cả để giải phóng chúng ta khỏi lòng tham muốn cũng như những mối bận tâm về vật chất riêng tư của mình và dành nhiều thời gian và tâm trí cho việc Chúa muốn chúng ta làm theo ý Chúa. Chúa cũng muốn chúng ta phải biết đặt niềm tin tưởng của chúng ta vào sự quan phòng của Thiên Chúa như Chúa Giêsu muốn các môn đệ của Ngài phải lệ thuộc vào Ngài chứ không phải là lệ thuộc vào chính họ hay những thứ vật chất.
    Hôm nay, Chúa Giêsu muốn thực hiện những làm việc của Ngài qua mỗi người chúng ta để tỏ lộ sự vinh quang của Ngài. Còn chúng ta, chúng ta đã sẵn sàng sử dụng sức mạnh và quyền năng siêu nhiên mà Thiên Chúa ban cho chúng ta để chúng ta nhân danh Ngài phục vụ những người anh em của chúng ta chưa? Chúng ta có thể đặt mình trong tay Chúa và bước đi trong niềm tự tin và hướng về một tương lai trước mặt để làm theo như Thánh Ý của Ngài. Chúng ta hãy lên đường theo các thánh Tông Đồ rao giảng lời Chúa mỗi ngày với hành trang duy nhất và quý giá nhất trong tất cả đó là niềm tin trong tâm hồn của chúng ta. Chúa trao ban cho chúng ta những ân sủng của Ngài và cho mỗi người chúng ta có những tài năng riêng để chúng ta có thể phục vụ Ngài. Vì thế chúng ta phải biết sẵn sàng đặt mình vào việc phục vụ của Chúa là làm bất cứ điều gì Chúa muốn chúng ta làm vì nhân danh Ngài và làm chứng cho sự thật cũng như quyền năng cứu rỗi của Ngài cho những ai mà Chúa đã gởi đến với chúng ta trong cuộc sống hiện tại của chúng ta.
    Lạy Chúa Giêsu Thánh thể, hai ngàn năm trước Chúa đã sai mười hai môn đệ của Chúa ra đi lên đường rao giảng Tin Mừng của Chúa cho muôn dân. Hôm nay chúng con qùy gối trước sự hiên diện của Chúa, Xin Chúa cũng cho chúng con biết từ bỏ mọi thứ của thế gian để lên đuờng đem Tin mừng đến với mọi người chung quanh mà không chút do dự, không cậy vào tài sức hay khả năng riêng của bản thân hay vào những phương tiện của trần thế, nhưng chỉ biết tin tưởng vào sự quan phòng của Chúa. Xin Chúa ban cho chúng con có được lòng can đảm và khả năng đẩy lui bóng tối của sự cám dỗ, tội lỗi, của những bất công và sự thoái hoá của xã hội hôm nay,
để chúng con có thể làm khô những giọt nước mắt của bao người đang đau khổ trong thể xác, lẫn tinh thần mà Chúa đã gởi họ đến trong cuộc sống của chúng con.
    Lạy Chúa Giêsu thánh thể, xin Chúa hãy biến chúng con thành những công cụ của Chúa để chúng con đem sức mạnh ơn chữa lành, tình yêu và lòng thương xót của Chúa đến tới những người khác để họ có thể tìm thấy sự sống dồi dào, khoẻ mạnh và tự do trong Chúa. Xin Chúa hãy giải phóng chúng con khỏi mọi sự ràng buộc khác của thế gian để chúng con có thể vui vẻ và can đảm theo đuổi kho báu trong Nước thiên đàng của Chúa. Xin cho chúng con biết làm chứng nhân cho Chúa Khit, cho niềm vui hạnh phúc của Tin Mừng trong những lời nói và việc làm của chúng con. Amen.

Meditation:
What kind of authority and power does the Lord want you to exercise on his behalf? Jesus gave his apostles both the power and the authority to speak and to act in his name. He commanded them to do the works which he did - to heal the sick. to cast out evil spirits, and to speak the word of God - the good news of the gospel which they received from Jesus. When Jesus spoke of power and authority he did something unheard of. He wedded power and authority with self-sacrificing love and humility. The "world" and the "flesh" seek power for selfish gain. Jesus teaches us to use it for the good of our neighbor. The Lord Jesus wants to work in and through each of us for his glory
   Why does Jesus tell the apostles to "travel light" with little or no provision? "Poverty of spirit" frees us from greed and preoccupation with our possessions and makes ample room for God's provision. The Lord wants his disciples to be dependent on him and not on themselves. He wills to work in and through each of us for his glory. Are you ready to use the spiritual authority and power which God wishes you to exercise on his behalf? The Lord entrusts us with his gifts and talents. Are you eager to place yourself at his service, to do whatever he bids you, and to witness his truth and saving power to whomever he sends you?      Lord Jesus, make me a channel of your healing power and merciful love that others may find abundant life and freedom in you. Free me from all other attachments that I may joyfully pursue the treasure of your heavenly kingdom. May I witness the joy of the Gospel both in word and deed.

Tin mừng hôm nay Chúa Giêsu đã truyền cho các môn đệ của Ngài để ra truyền giáo nhưng không được mang gì theo người ngoại trừ cây gậy để bảo vệ “sói” dọc đường, Chúa Giêsu muốn tập cho họ biết đặt niềm tin vào sự Quan Phòng của Thiên Chúa và sự hiện diện của Chúa Thánh Thần. Chúa Giêsu muốn họ ra đi làm việc trong một cách nhẹ nhàng, không bị lệ thuộc, bị gò bó về vật chất, lệ thuộc về cái ăn, cái mặc. Mục đích của họ là rao giảng Tin Mừng của Chúa và Nược Trời.

Chúa muốn tất cả chúng ta cũng nên phụ thuộc vào Thiên Chúa một cách hoàn toàn, Chúa muốn chúng ta tín thác mọi sự nơi Thiên Chúa, Có lẽ quan niệm này đã quá cực đoan với chúng ta trong thời buổi hôm nay, nhưng có lẽ chúng ta nhất định cần phải đạt niềm tin tuởng vào sự Quan Phòng của Thiên Chúa nhiều hơn như các môn đệ. Chúng ta không thể kiểm soát tất cả mọi thứ hoặc có thể chuẩn bị cho tất cả mọi biến cố có thể xảy ra, cho chúng ta và chúng ta không cần phải bận tâm về những thứ vật chất ấy. Chúng ta có thể đặt mình trong tay Chúa và bước đi trong niềm tự tin và hướng về một tương lai trước mặt để làm theo như Thánh Ý của Ngài. Reflection:

When we go on a trip, we take everything that we think we will need. Often we take too much! Can you imagine going on a long trip with absolutely nothing? That is what Jesus commanded his disciples to do in that first mission. But they did have something — the Providence of God and the presence of the Spirit within them. Jesus wanted them to travel lightly and keep on the move, but most of all, to depend on God completely. This is probably too radical for most of us, but perhaps we can practice trusting in God’s Providence a bit more. We can’t control everything or prepare for all possible events, and we don’t need to do so. We can place ourselves in God’s hands and step confidently forward to do His will. Let us journey each day with the most precious baggage of all - the faith in our hearts. Lord, help me to trust. 

Opening Prayer:

Lord, as I come into your presence, open my heart to experience your love for me. Let me hear your voice, so personal, so constant in my life, as I read this Scripture which you desire to be living and active in my life. Reveal your heart to me. I offer all and surrender all to you, whatever may happen in this time of prayer. Whatever you will Lord, as long as you want and however you want. No matter how I come now to this time of prayer, I want you to know I am here because I love you. You are the most important thing to me, and this prayer time is the most important thing I could do today. Bless my poor efforts with the gift of yourself. Here I am Lord; speak to me.

Encountering Christ:

1. He Gave Them Authority: Each of the Apostles was personally called and chosen by Christ after much prayer and discernment. He knew their strengths, talents, qualities, and gifts, and he also knew their weaknesses, failings, and struggles. And he still called them. He formed them through his own witness of life—how he lived and prayed. He also taught and instructed them, assuring them that he would accompany them in spirit by sending them forth in his name. Jesus entrusted them with this mission of making present his kingdom through their witness, prayer, and sacrifice, and with his authority.

2. Two by Two: Christ sent them out together. He knew that they would lean on each other, and find support and encouragement as they worked together and modeled charity in the way that they related to each other in love. How much we need community in our own lives! We are not lone rangers as we seek to make Christ’s kingdom present in the world. That was not his design. Even Jesus communed with the Holy Spirit as he revealed to people the heart of his Father. Let’s thank God for the people he has placed alongside us to accompany us on the journey through this life to heaven.

3. They Bore Fruit: Jesus was very clear about what he was calling the Apostles to do, and they set off to fulfill his instructions. The Scripture tells us that they did in fact fulfill that mission. They drove out demons and miraculously healed many who were sick. The mission unfolded as Christ had predicted, and their obedience, trust, and surrender bore fruit. They were able to touch many people on their journey in Christ’s name. If we discern the path that Christ wants us to follow and we take action, he will bless it. But it takes time to create space for him to reveal that plan, and discernment to intuit the quiet voice of Christ making known how and where he longs to mission alongside us. Let’s ask the Lord, “What can I do for you today?” and listen in the stillness for his answer.

Conversing with Christ: Lord, you have drawn me close to yourself. Confirm me in the mission you entrust to me, that I may be a true friend and witness to others. Please allow my small efforts to bear great fruit. Continue to bless those with whom you send me, that we may be a sign of charity and love rooted in friendship with you.

Resolution: Lord, today by your grace show me if there is someone with whom you want me to mission more often or with a deeper sense of communion.

Thurs 4th Week in Ordinary Time

When Jesus sent out his disciple to begin the preaching of the Gospel, it was indeed a great sign of his trust in them. At the same time, it presented them with a number of challenges: they had to realize how much Jesus trusted them and to appreciate how great the power which he had given them was. These challenges were implicit in the very act of sending them. But then Jesus added the challenge of poverty and the trust they needed that, in the name of Jesus, they could accomplish everything that he was sending them to do. What they were sent to do could not be accomplished by human resources. So in poverty they had to set all human resources aside and, in faith, accept a mind-set which later St Paul would formulate with the words: “For when I am weak then I am strong.”(2 Corinthians 12:10).

Pope Francis hopes that the Church will truly become a Church of the poor. Then it will be truly a Church filled with the strength, the power and the vision of God and so be a source of “many cures” for the world.

Father in Heaven, make us strong in faith, hope and love and grant us the courage to be sincere witnesses of the Gospel.

REFLECTION

Being sent to look after God's flock is quite challenging. It would be ideal to be sent out in twos, but more often than not, the missionary has to go at it all by himself or herself. The resources for the mission will present themselves as necessary. Talk about complete faith in Divine Providence! Our Christian world was born out of this zealous missionary spirit. If brave men and women didn't heed the call to be sent out, there probably couldn’t be as many religious educational institutions, congregations and organizations in existence. Maybe, there would be fewer people who would realize for themselves that Jesus really loves them.

Sharing about God's love is the heart of our faith. In whatever we do, hopefully we are relaying the reality of God actively participating in human under takings. This same fervor inspired our missionary brothers and sisters to cross oceans, climb mountains, and conquer jungles so that the Word of God may be preached in all corners of the earth. Every human being needs to hear that there is a God who looks after them and never abandons them.

May we always ask for the grace to be missionaries in our own little circles of influence? Hopefully, whoever we encounter in this life, may they see the love of Jesus made real by our example. The Scriptures come alive in our actions and how we treat one another. Yes, they'll know we are Christians by our love!

Thursday 4th Week in Ordinary Time

In sending out his Apostles to preach the Gospel, Jesus did not give them a detailed picture of what to expect or detailed instructions how to deal with every possible situation that might arise. He gave them some fundamental instructions, especially the instruction to travel as poorly as possible. Along with this vocation to poverty, however, he also gave them a great power: authority over unclean spirits. Healing, including liberation from unclean spirits was a major part of Jesus own ministry. This gift of power over unclean spirits, then, was a sign that everything they were to do was to be seen as part of his own mission. Involvement in that mission inevitably entailed an experience of poverty, for Jesus’ first work was to empty himself and come amongst us as a human being, born in poverty.

Though Mark does not say it specifically, they were to proclaim the Kingdom of God. They were not, however to try to force anyone to believe, they were to move on though somehow disassociating themselves from those who would not receive them.

Lord Jesus, in Your Church, the communion of saints, You have given us many gifts: faith, hope, love, prayer, wisdom and courage. Grant that we will always use Your gifts for the work of Your Kingdom and the good of Your people.
