 Suy Niệm Thứ Sáu Tuần thứ Hai Mùa Vọng 

Trong bài đọc thứ nhất, Theo tiên tri Isaiah loan báo, Thiên Chúa đã hứa là nếu chúng ta tuân thủ và vâng theo mệnh lệnh của Ngài, chúng ta sẽ được Chúa chúc phúc và ban sự bình an của Người cho chúng ta. 
Qua bài Tin Mừng, chúng ta thấy Chúa Giêsu đã trừng phạt những người Pharisêu và những người hùa theo chỉ trích Ngài. Chúa nói họ chỉ giống như những đứa trẻ không biết phải làm gì: chúng sẽ không nhảy múa khi được nghe những tiếng nhạc vui vẻ và cũng không biết khóc khi nghe tiếng kèn đám ma. Tháng Gioan Tẩy Giả ăn chay, sám hối, sống đơn sơ thì họ nói rằng ngải "bị quỷ ám". Còn Chúa Giêsu đến, Ngài ăn và uống với bất cứ ai, kể cả những người thu thuế và người tội lỗi thì họ lại nói Ngài là "một kẻ háu ăn và say mê tửu rượu". Tất cả những lời chỉ trích của Chúa Giêsu đều chính xác, vì những người pharisiêu này không bao giờ biết lắng nghe và đánh giá cao những lời giảng huấn của Chúa cũng như họ đã không nhìn thấy được cái ý nghĩa của những dấu lạ và những phép lạ Ngài đã làm trước mắt họ là chữa lành cho những người đau bệnh, làm cho kẻ chết sống lại, người mù được thấy, người điếc được nghe...’ 
Nếu chúng ta có một xã hội mà mọi người biết tuân theo sự giáo huấn và hướng dẫn của Chúa, chúng ta sẽ thấy ít gia đình đổ vỡ hơn, thấy ít tội phạm hơn, và ít thấy các em bé mồ côi đang bị bỏ rơi trên các đường phố của chúng ta, chúng ta sẽ thất ít ghen ghét và thù hận hơn và có lẽ chúng ta sẽ thấy nhiều sự yêu thương nhiều hơn trong xã hội này. Và nếu bất cứ ai trong chúng ta phải bị thất bại và xa lìa khỏi Thiên Chúa, chúng ta nên biét rằng với lòng thương xót của Ngài, Ngài sẽ như một mục tử tốt lành, Ngài sẽ đi tìm kiếm những gì Ng\ài đã mất. Chúng ta hãy cầu sin Chúa Thánh Thần ban cho chúng co có sự khôn ngoan để nhìn và nghe thấy Thiên Chúa trong cuộc sống của chúng ta. Chúng ta hãy cầu xin Chúa ban cho chúng ta những ân sủng và sức mạnh để chúng ta biết ngoan ngoãn và trung thành với sự thúc giục của Chúa và tuân theo mệnh lệnh của Ngài. 

FRIDAY, 2ND Week in Advent 
In the first reading from the Prophet Isaiah God assures that, if we follow and are obedient to his commands, we would be blessed with his peace. 
In the Gospel reading Jesus chastises the Pharisees and his other critics. They are like children who do not know what to do: they would not dance to joyful music nor would they weep at a funeral song. John the Baptist came fasting and in penance and they said he was "possessed by a demon." Jesus ate and drank with whoever, including sinners and tax collectors and they said he was "a glutton and a drunkard." All the critics of Jesus knew was to find fault: they would not listen and evaluate his message nor would they see the meaning of the great signs and cures he performed because their eyes and ears were closed. 
If we had a society which followed God's command and guidance, we would see less broken families, less crime and less abandoned children on our streets, less hate and more love. And if any of us failed and wandered away from God, in his mercy, as a good shepherd, he would seek out the lost. Let us pray for wisdom to see and hear God in our lives. Let us pray for the grace and strength to remain obedient and faithful to his urgings and commands. 

Opening Prayer: 
Lord God, thank you for the Church. Thank you for this season of Advent to prepare for your coming. Grant me the spirit of Wisdom which teaches me to open my heart to Christ this Christmas. 
Encountering Christ: 
1. Times and Seasons: What a gift we have as Catholics in the liturgical calendar! It’s as if the Church tells us, “Now is the time to dance” or “Now is the time to mourn.” She proposes for us times and seasons in which we attune our sentiments to the sentiments of Christ: repentance and expectation during Advent, humility and joy at Christmas, penance and mercy in Lent, and a grand celebration during the Easter season. We can thus walk step in step with the Church, living the principal mysteries of our faith throughout the year in an atmosphere of communion and solidarity with our fellow Christians. Through the liturgical seasons–and our faith-filled living of them–hearts are united, the Church is built up, and charity increases. “Wisdom is vindicated by her works!” 
2. Minding Our Own Business: There are some sourpuss Christians who dismiss ascetics like John and consider joyful Christians like Christ “Pollyannas.” Perhaps this tendency takes root when we sit idly like a child in the marketplace calling out to passersby. It’s all too easy these days to fall into the trap, so common on social media, of stating our opinion about every little thing, whether or not our advice has been solicited. St. Paul reminds us, “We hear that some are…not keeping busy but minding the business of others. Such people we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and to eat their own food” (2 Thessalonians 3:11-12). 
3. Jesus, Friend of Sinners: What was hurled at Christ as an insult is in reality his glory: Jesus is the friend of tax collectors and sinners. “Jesus, Friend of Sinners”; what a beautiful title! Jesus, therefore, is my friend. He is no friend to sin, but he has pity on me, a poor sinner. He who knew not sin took on my sins and the sins of the whole world in order to vanquish sin and set free all sinners. This is why he came to earth. This is why he comes this Christmas. December 25 means the arrival of our heavenly friend, the innocent babe in the manger who comes to save as many of his friends as possible. 
Conversing with Christ: Jesus Christ, Wisdom of the Father, have mercy on me, a sinner. Teach me to follow after you as a true disciple, and grant me the grace to see my brothers and sisters for what they really are—your dear friends! 
Resolution: Lord, today by your grace I will think well of those who irritate me and show them a kindness.

Trong cuộc sống con người của chúng ta, chắc chắc cũng sẽ có những điều không may hay bất hạnh xảy đến, Và mỗi khi như thế, chúng ta buồn, khồ và có thể đánh mất đi niềm hy vọng. Tuy nhiên, chắc chắn là đối với người có hy vọng, họ sẽ có được một tương lai sáng láng đang đón chờ trong tương lai. Reflection SG Friday 2nd Advent 
When things go badly wrong for us, we may lose hope and even come to feel that there is no future. Yet it is certain that for the person with hope a future lies in store. When that hope is a human hope and grounded in our own abilities to overcome obstacles, it will generally require much effort to realize it and make something worthwhile of ourselves and our future. When our hope in life is grounded in Christian faith then it is a divine hope, animated and brought to fulfillment on the basis of God's promises. The passage we read from Isaiah today puts this very clearly before us. God first of all affirms the great principle of his revelation to us: “I, the Lord, your God, teach you what is for your good and lead you in the way you should go”. 
God's words to us, even when they take the form of commandments, are never burdensome. Rather, as we stay united with God through keeping them, God’s revelation engages us in accomplishing that divine prosperity which he promises us in blessing our life on earth and making of it a threshold of heaven. 
Animated by hope in Your promises, Lord, may we be engaged with You in building a future of peace and justice, joy and truth.g con đường lẽ phải”.
