Niệm Tin Mừng Thứ Ba Tuần 23 TN 2017 Luke
6:12-19,
Trong
bài Tin Mừng hôm nay, chúng ta thấy sau một đêm cầu nguyện, Chúa Giêsu gọi và mười hai tông đồ, những người bạn đồng hành thân thiết với Ngài, và họ
sẽ là những người lãnh đạo, dẫn dắt Giáo hội của Ngài. Họ chỉ là những
người bình thường, là dân đánh cá, là người thu thuế, những người Do
thái đạo đức. Hai người trong số sẽ phản bội Ngài, một người chối bò
Ngài ba lần khi Ngài bị bắt, còn người kia thì phản bội và bán Ngài với
giá 30 đồng cho các kỳ lão, các thầy thượng tế và họ đã giết
Ngài. Tất cả mọi người đã bỏ Ngài trong những lúc Ngài phải chịu
đau khổ nhất, khi Ngài bị xỉ nhục và phải chết trên thập giá ngoại trừ một người.
Tuy
nhiên bằng cách nào đó, họ vẫn một lòng tin tưởng và vững tin vào Ngài.
Và với quyền năng của Chúa Thánh Thần đã khiến ngọn lửa bùng cháy lên cho thế
giới. Và tất cả những người này đã ra đi rao giảng Tin Mừng và đem
Chúa đến các quốc gia, và sau cùng họ cũng đã phải chết tử đạo như
Chúa Giêsu thầy của họ vì họ muốn chứng tỏ tình yêu của họ đối với Chúa
Giêsu, Đấng Cứu Thế ngoại trừ một người, đó là người được Chúa yêu.
Xin
Chúa cho chúng ta biết vững tin và trung thành theo Chúa Kitô một cách
đích thực. Nguyện cho Giáo Hội của Chúa Kitô luôn có những người kế nhiệm
Thánh Phêrô biết trung tín và đáng tin cậy như các thánh Tông Đồ khi xưa
đã làm là đem Tin Mừng của Chúa Kitô đến với mọi người.
REFLECTION 2017
In the Gospel reading, after a night of
prayer, Jesus names the twelve apostles, ordinary men he has called and chosen
to be his close companions and co-workers and who would, after his life on
earth, lead his Church. They were ordinary people: a few fishermen and their
friends, a tax collector, devout Israelites. Two would betray him, one before
simple maid-servants, the other would betray him to his death before Jewish
religious leaders for thirty pieces of silver. Except for one, all would
abandon him at his trial and death.
Yet somehow they remained his faithful
followers. And with the power of the Holy Spirit set the world on fire. All,
except for one, died martyrs' deaths in witness to their love for Christ.
May we be faithful and loving followers
of Christ. May the Church always have faithful and trustworthy successors of
the Apostles as leaders of the Church.
My REFLECTION Tuesday 23th Ordinary Time
In the
Gospel reading, we see that after a night of prayer, Jesus picks twelve men
and names them His apostles. We can see these men were ordinary men like us.
They were
ordinary people: they are fishermen, a tax collector, and devout Israelites.
They are no
different from us, as we knew two of them would betray him, one of them denied Him 3 times before.
And the
other one would betray him by selling him to the Chief priests, and the elder
leaders of the Jews for thirty pieces of silver.
There
was John and he was the only one who would not abandon him and would follow Him through His trail and His death.
Jesus knew them very well, He knew their
weakness but He still
called them and
choose them to be His close companions, His co-workers
and wanted these men to lead His Church after He resurrection and assenting to heaven.
Yet somehow all of them
except one would
remained to His
faithful followers.
And with the
power of the Holy Spirit they built His church and brought His
words of Good News through out the world.
At the end, all of them were
martyred, except John
the beloved, their
deaths in witness to their love for Jesus Christ.
As
Christians, we should never think that anyone is insignificant in God's plan.
Everyone is
part of the history that
Jesus himself shapes.
He wants
each one of us to be a part of that history as living witnesses to faith.
As Saint Paul reminds us to remain in the
first reading, faithful
to the Gospel message, and to the teachings of Jesus which he and the apostles preached to the
world.
Every one of
us is asked to dedicate ourselves to the love and service of God and people.
Let us pray
for the grace to live and act in accord with the Christian dignity.
